From the Director's Desk:

Thank you to everyone for an amazing "Dig, Discover, Read" Summer Reading Program!  This year, 100 participants enjoyed the summer reading program: Toddlers through grade school kiddos read for nearly 40,000 minutes, while teens and adults read a combined 348 books!  We also enjoyed hosting 440 community members over 36 events during our six week Summer Reading Program!

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month — the perfect opportunity to sign up for or renew your Sherrard Public Library District card! Your library card unlocks access to thousands of books, movies, and other materials, plus even more through PrairieCat. Cardholders can also enjoy free admission passes to local attractions like Niabi Zoo, access daily newspapers, use computers, printing, and fax services, and take part in hundreds of community events throughout the year. Don’t miss out on everything your library card can offer!

To register for a library card, residents will need a photo ID and another proof of address (such as car registration or checkbook).  To renew your card, please bring your photo ID.  All library accounts expire after three years - give us a call to check your account's status.

This month, check out our NEW In Person Event, Coloring Club!  Join us for our first Coloring Club on Wednesday, September 2nd for a relaxed morning of coloring for the seasons (registration required).  We're also excited to be joined by Joni's Kitchen for a Beginner Sourdough Class!  Each participant will receive a sourdough starter, mini loaf and instructions, in addition to a full demonstration.  Please be sure to check out registration requirements for this in-person event, as well as our No Show Policy when registering.

Registration for September events opens August 21st at 10 AM
