WHO ARE THE FRIENDS?
The FRIENDS are members of a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the Sherrard Public Library District.
WHAT DO FRIENDS DO?
- Inventory Books
- Maintenance projects
- Help with book/magazine sales
- Help with special events
- Clerical support
- Computer work (database, etc.)
- Mailings
- Organize or provide library programs
(story readers) for kids, adults and elders - Bake sale contributions
WHY BE A FRIEND?
- You are helping the library acquire important materials beyond its budget.
- You are invited to attend previews of the FRIENDS’ book sales and purchase books.
- You may share your talents for an event or on a continuing basis.
- You are able to participate in FRIENDS’ activities and events.
THE LIBRARY NEEDS YOUR ENTHUSIASTIC SUPPORT!
FRIENDS’ contributions to the library enrich the collection of the library and endow the following:
- General acquisitions
- Children’s programs
- Computer programs
- Video and CD collections
- Library equipment and furnishings
Each of these endowments depends upon community support. As a FRIEND, you can help ensure that your library keeps pace with the needs of the community.
