Halloween Costume Exchange

Start cleaning out those garages and closets and bring all your gently used Halloween costumes from past years to our Halloween Costume Exchange at the Sherrard Public Library District.

The library is hosting the exchange for the first time to promote reusing, recycling and a “save money” philosophy. We are accepting costumes of all sizes: infant, toddler, kids, teens, and adults. We will also take any Halloween costume accessories.

Drop off costumes between September 17th-28th at the Sherrard Public Library or at the Mobile Branch, and then return to find a costume between 3:00 PM– 8:00 PM on October 1st at the Sherrard Public Library.

Items that are left over will be donated to local charities.

National Library Card Sign-Up Month

Visit your library today. It is a hub of community activity and in tough economic times your library card gives you free access to books and computers, homework help, assistance with resumes and job searches, accurate financial information, music, movies and much more.  During the month of September, the Sherrard Public Library  District will be holding a contest to see how many NEW library cards our patrons can help us get.

Recommend your Sherrard School District family and friends to get a library card from us. When they sign up for a card we will have a line on the application that asks who referred them. Whom ever gets the most referrals between September 1st and September 30th will win an awesome prize.

We will run 2 separate contests: one for the mobile branch and one for our main branch.
